Holbein Gouache is an opaque mat watercolor made from pigments chosen for high density
saturation and lightfastness. Before transparent water color, gouache or tempera color was used
from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance as the favoured medium of the great Masters of the time.
Capable of being thinned to semi-transparency with water or used in dense opaque layers to build
